Can you post comparison figures for the ground clearance and the turning radius. Both these are very critical for the car to be usable on Indian roads.

Great Question:
The Ground Clearance - 155mm
The Turning Radius - 5.25mts

Hi saumil ,

I am interested in buying a sedan in the range of Rs. 5.5 - 6.5 lacs. My driving is 1500 kms/per month - most of which is in-city. I'm looking for a car which is high on fuel efficiency and low on maintenance. I am currently contemplating between a Ford Fiesta 1.4 (Petrol) and a Mahindra LOgan 1.5 DLE (Diesel). I'm a little skeptical about the success of Logan and it's engine in India. Please suggest which of the two cars should i buy.

Hey Gaurav,
I was in ur place just sum time ago.. I was also deciding on a ford fiesta but then came to know about the maintainance which is always very costly on a Ford, I decided to go for a Swift diesel doing away with the dreams of a Sedan but just thrn the Logan was announced.

Its a beautuful car and being a Mahindra, it'll Definately very very low on maintainance in comparision with a Ford. Trust me on this cause i also own a Ikon so i know!! Also i am not saying this witout any research, I have a close friend of mine working with Mahindra who has also been on training for the Logan and also travelled to Germany for the same! Its a great car wth a fabulous Renault engine, though the mileage would be Just a little less than the Fiesta( about1-1.5 kmpl) but the maintainance would more than make up for it.. Also, in comparision the Logan is much more comfortable and spacious than any other car in its category.

My suggestion:- Go for the Logan

Hi Saumil

This is Sivananthan from Chennai

I happened to see your blog, great

I have been following Logan since last 8 months and i wanted to buy this
car, i blv that you have booked. Congrats

I read some comments about this car like low bed (Clearance from the
ground), steering close to the legs for tall people (Iam tall)and Diesel
engine not doing well in steep roads.

What is your opinion on this, i was very keen to book this car, now iam
thinking whether to wait and book the revamped model which might come after
6 months.

You know all these newly launched vehicles rectify their faults , refurbish
the model and come out with their relaunch

I dont know whether u will agree to my view

Keep me informed about the vehicle after u take delivery of Logan, what
color hv u booked

Take care

Regards

Sivananthan

Firstly thanks!!
Now coming to the main part, i ve booked a Sahara Beige, and about the steep roas problem, i have test driven the car about 3-4 times but didnt experience anything like that. For your information, a close frien of mine works with mahindra and has been training on the Logan since the past 1 year. He has a through report on the car and told me "Mahindra has brought this car with much of testing and there shouldnt be any problem on Indian roads. Its a car which will give you very few maintainance calls."

As for the height, again i have a friend who is 6'1" and had no problem in driving the ar watsoever!!

At first even i was skeptical on booking the car but after testdriving and listening to my friend from Mahindra(he wouldnt lie to me), i decided to go for it.

I think even u should go ahead and test drive 1 and book it immediately! ;)
